Family visit

I had to add a quick post that my brother and his wife, Nikki and my nephew were here for the past week. We had a fantastic time.

One of the highlights was when we had a family science lesson in our back yard. My dad bought some mice at the pet store and we fed them to the spotted owls we have in our yard. I'll post some pics later. Yes, I am aware of how odd this probably sounds.

I introduced Nikki to my new work out addiction: The Dailey Method, where we managed to try to kill ourselves through repetitive squats by using a ballet bar. For some reason we both LOVE it!

AG (my brother) helped my dad with random projects like digging a ditch about 400 yards on a hill in our back yard. You have no idea how thrilled Mike was that he dodged that bullet.

And we kept my nephew busy with sports camp in the mornings and we had lunch everyday at a different Mill Valley park. We managed to make it to the beach and the pool several times. Mike and I just adore our little nephew who we all call "Big Arnold." He is a true joy!

WALLS!!!!!!!!!

Hello all. It is official. We have walls. This is pretty fantastic, huh? They started the sheet rock last Monday and finished texturing yesterday- so a total of seven days of work and the drywall is done! Tomorrow my mom and I begin the daunting task of priming the whole house... then we begin painting.

We just spent about half an hour receiving the Painting 101 from the good old Doc Werschky and gathering supplies out of our garage- because most people have a full set of painting supplies in their garage, right? Man I wish I took some notes and had some quotes. I did stump my Dad with my one question, "What should I wear when I paint?" (Lets just say he wasn't thrilled by my inquisitiveness.) I'll let you all know how it goes. Wish us luck.

Revovation update

I know I know.... you all want more pics and an update. SORRY! Hey I guess I should be happy that someone is actually reading this blog and I'm not just wasting my time.

The past month, we have been finishing up the electrical and getting everything perfect for drywall.... which should be starting this Tuesday. (I did hold my breath while typing that.) We have interviewed more tile people and drywallers that I thought was possible- but we are "looking for a deal" says my Dad. The cabinets are on schedule to arrive the end of July, we ordered our floors, and we picked out paint colors. Oh and there are some pics of the cement we poured for the front porch and some pics of the front porch being built.

Mike and I are feeling the fatige of remodeling. We have lost our sense of detail and excitement- we just want it to be DONE! Good timing for Mike because he is starting the police academy on Saturday. Wish him luck :)
